The FIA has condemned the targeted abuse aimed at the stewards who penalised Franco Colapinto at the Dutch Grand Prix, and confirmed it is exploring legal options. "Disagreement with decisions is part of sport, but it must never justify threats or personal attacks," the statement read, issued through the governing body's United Against Online Abuse coalition. Much of the online reaction claimed a bias against drivers who are not British. Arvid Lindblad, who is British, received the same initial penalty for the same offence. An executive at Mercado Libre, Colapinto's main sponsor, wrote that the stewards are "killing the integrity of F1. Incompetence? Dishonesty? Both?"
